Grassroots

By clicking on the link below you will be able to access the Society's database (providing you have your member number and access code to hand - you should have received these in January 2012. Please let the secretary know if you haven't received them).

You will be able to search for animals, check their details, as well as their pedigree and any progeny. You will also be able to search for members, although in some cases this may be restricted by members' preferences under data protection laws.

Finally, you may carry out routines such as birth notifications, registrations and transfers, as well as updating your own membership details. Please note that anything you submit will not update the data automatically - your updates will go to a "holding area" until the secretary checks them and processes them. You will be invoiced and may pay either by cheque or by BACS direct into the Society's account. Online payments are not yet available.

Please note the following: -

The system works slightly differently where transfers are concerned. When doing these online it is the vendor who must submit the transfer, not the purchaser. In line with the Society's pricing policy the purchaser must still pay for the transfer, so when submitting the transfer please be sure to provide the purchaser's full details.

When a birth notification is submitted online and the member does not require a birth certificate to be issued the usual fee will be waived. If you require a birth certificate to be issued please let the secretary know and the fee will then apply.

When submitting registrations a likeness of the animal will still have to be submitted to the Society. This can either be a digital photograph (one of each side) or a sketch card which has been scanned. The likeness can then be sent to the Secretary by email to be attached to the animal's record. Please be sure to clearly indicate on the sketch or the photographs the ear number of the animal. It will not be possible to process a registration without this.

Finally, due to teething problems with the transfer of data, you may not be able to find some of the data you are looking for. This doesn't mean an animal is not registered, but is probably in the wrong ownership. Please inform the Secretary of any problems you may encounter and they will be corrected.

PLEASE REMEMBER WHEN APPLYING FOR A REGISTRATION YOU MUST SUBMIT A LIKENESS OF BOTH SIDES OF THE ANIMAL BEFORE THE REGISTRATION CAN BE PROCESSED.

BULLS MUST STILL BE INSPECTED BEFORE A REGISTRATION CAN BE SUNMITTED, SO PLEASE CONTACT THE SECRETARY TO ARRANGE THIS AND WAIT UNTIL THE INSPECTION HAS BEEN COMPLETED BEFORE SUBMITTING AN ONLINE REGISTRATION.
